Birth Doula Services in Boulder County

Birth Assistants of Boulder Birth Doulas are professionally trained in labor support, experienced in childbirth, and offer physical comfort, emotional support, encouragement, and wisdom before, during, and after your birth. Learn more about our additional services.

Services may include, but are not limited to:birth-Boulder-Doula

  • A caring, confidential relationship with your birth doula who is on call for you 24-hours a day, 7-days a week
  • A doula who will be present with you during your active labor, birth, and immediate postpartum time
  • Provide partners and family members with helpful ideas on how to be involved in the birth
  • 1 or 2 prenatal home visits to get to know you and your family better and help you prepare for your birth
  • Support in clarifying and writing your birth preferences (also known as a “birth plan”)
  • Photos of your birth
  • Information to make informed decisions and ask questions of your medical care providers
  • Professional care by women who work collaboratively and respectfully with your physicians, midwives, and nurses
  • Phone and email support prior to and after your birth
  • 1 or 2 postpartum home visits to reflect on your birth, provide support with breastfeeding, postpartum wellness, parenting, and newborn care
  • Professional referrals to services for you, your baby, and family in Boulder County and surrounding communitiesbirth assistants of boulder doulas
  • In the rare event your Birth Doula is not available when you are in labor, the support of a trusted Birth Assistants of Boulder back up doula
  • Additional prenatal and postpartum home visits as needed (additional charges may apply)
  • Coordinated expertise from the Birth Assistants of Boulder team who provide Additional Services, including: Birth Photography, Childbirth & Parenting Education, Lactation Consultation, Maternity & Infant Massage Therapy and Postpartum Doula Services.
